Cinnamon Apple & Flax Overnight Oats
Grated apple, cinnamon and flax stirred into creamy overnight oats - ten minutes tonight buys you a ready-made morning.
Apple pie logic applied to breakfast: grated fruit, cinnamon and creamy oats, eaten cold straight from the jar. As a trying-to-conceive breakfast it leans on steadiness rather than a single hero ingredient - whole grains, fruit and seeds in a pattern either partner can keep up for months without noticing.

Method
- Mix. In a jar or bowl, stir together the oats, milk, grated apple, flaxseed, cinnamon and maple syrup until no dry patches of oats remain and the flax is evenly worked through.
- Chill. Cover the jar and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight. The oats and flax will soak up the milk and set into a thick, spoonable pudding.
- Loosen. In the morning, stir the oats well in the jar. If they seem stiff, add a splash of milk, a little at a time, until they fall lazily off the spoon.
- Top. Spoon into bowls or eat straight from the jar. Finish with the reserved apple slices and a spoonful of almond butter swirled over the top of each serving.

Is this safe when trying to conceive?
Yes - nothing in this jar is limited or off the table while trying to conceive, for either of you. The one ingredient with a real preconception angle is the flax the note talks about: its plant omega-3 has been studied for sperm quality, so sharing the batch is a reasonable move - association, not promise, which is why it stays worded that way.
Substitutions & allergens
- Certified gluten-free oats remove the gluten - the oats are the only gluten flag here.
- Sunflower seed butter replaces the almond butter - removes nuts.
- Choose the oat-milk option over soy and the soy flag goes away too.
- Chia seeds can stand in for the flax and thicken the jar even further.
- A ripe pear works grated in place of the apple.
Storage & reheating
A make-ahead by design: covered in the fridge, the jars keep for 48 hours, so one evening of stirring covers two mornings, per general FSA chilling guidance. It is eaten cold, so there is nothing to reheat - and freezing is not worth it here; the grated apple and the set oats both come back watery.
